He has published several monographs\u00a0on\u00a0both\u00a0modern\u00a0and contemporary\u00a0Chinese literature including<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Young China: National Rejuvenation and the Bildungsroman 1900-1959<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u300a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u4e94\u56db<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">@100<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u300b<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(May Fourth@100) with David Der-wei\u00a0Wang and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u300a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u4e2d\u570b\u79d1\u5e7b\u65b0\u6d6a\u6f6e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u300b<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(New Wave of Chinese Science Fiction). His pioneering work on new wave Chinese SF has made him one of the leading scholars in this field and\u00a0his latest &#8211;much anticipated&#8211; book\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Fear of Seeing: The Poetics and Politics of Chinese Science Fiction<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0is forthcoming\u00a0with\u00a0Columbia University Press.
