The story of Siw Stavanger in Aftenblad– Gi meg litt lykke f\u00f8r jeg d\u00f8r \u2013 Historien om Siw<\/strong> won the Schibsted Journalism Awards for its authors Thomas Ergo and Tove Bj\u00f8rn\u00e5 in May 2019. The story is about a Norwegian woman, Siw, born with all possibilities for a normal and healthy life. Through multiple interviews and articles with people, professionals and the services that knew her, the authors reconstructed Siw`s stormy life, right from her birth, through her decline into poverty, mental ill health, substance misuse, criminality and neglect to her early and tragic death. Sadly Siw is not unique but representative of many on the margins of society, vulnerable and requiring the support of many health, social and criminal justice professionals to address their multiple needs and help them find ways into a life free of crime once they return to the community.<\/p>\n

In this podcast we hear about more about prisoner vulnerabilities and the importance of giving them voice in the development of services.\u00a0 It explores also the importance of collaboration, innovation and organisational learning within the criminal justice field and the multiple stakeholders involved.<\/p>\n

The content of the podcast captures the work of an international consortium, the COLAB consortium.\u00a0 Prof Sarah Hean, Professor of Social Work at the University of Stavanger, Norway, and Coordinator of COLAB, talks with fellow COLAB members, and some of our guests, about this complex area<\/p>\n

In this episode<\/strong> we hear the story of a Norwegian woman, Siw, born with all possibilities for a normal and healthy life. We hear about Siw`s stormy life, her poverty, mental ill health, substance misuse, criminality and neglect that led to her early and tragic death.<\/p>\n
